My entire life has been filled with service. From my
business as a childcare provider to my service at my local
place of worship, my heart has been yielded as type of
believer who desires to bring greater joy and vibrancy to
the life of others through service to others. Specifically,
within the Body of Christ, there is such great need for
resilient secondary leadership. Those who carry the God-
sized weight of senior leadership need a supportive team of
secondary leaders to catch, adopt, and advance the overall
vision. This, however, cannot be accomplished haphazardly.
Many have adopted the ill-framed thought that simply
because an act is performed as an act of service – which
usually means unpaid and often overlooked – it can be
performed void of strategic direction and be happily
accepted by its intended benefactors. On the contrary,
secondary leaders must be invested, authorized, and
qualified to execute the service to which they are called. To
put it simply: secondary leaders must be empowered.
